Thomas Lehr, Jr.

Thomas Earl Lehr, Jr., 63, of Orange, TX was called home by his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 16, 2024. Tom had his two sons, Minister Micheal Lehr and Fletcher Lehr and his daughter-in -law, Monica Lehr with him as he passed on.


Thomas was an avid golfer and he loved fishing and going to the beach. He did professional barbecuing, while spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Pitkin, LA. Thomas graduated from Piketon High School in Ohio in 1979. From there Tom started acting and supported his local American Indian heritage by participating in live reenactments at Tecumseh Outdoor Drama and Concert Venue. Several years later Tom started his career working for Dolly Madison Bakery, also known for its long marketing associate with Peanuts animated (TV). He later moved to work at Piggly Wiggly in DeRidder in 1984 as an assistant manager. Tom quickly picked up on sales and was moved to different stores in Sherman, TX as assistant manager. Tom and his family moved to Minden., LA as he operated a grocery store as the store manager. He later moved into the logging business as a timber surveyor and received his license in real estate and business. He also went to truck driving school in 1994 and worked for seven companies. He worked to CX Transportation as the company switched over to MDS Trucking in Sulphur and was a lead driver and training instructor. Tom medically retired in 2017 and enjoyed the rest of his years with his children and grandchildren. He was a big supporter of the Gothic Jail After Dark in DeRidder, giving 100 % support to his two sons, granddaughter, grandson and daughter-in-law, who are seasoned actors at the Gothic Jail. He also supported the East Beauregard Volunteer Fire Department and the New Llano Police Department, in which his family is also involved in.


Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Donna Killman of Orange, TX; sons, Michael Lehr and Monica of DeRidder, LA, Fletcher Lehr of DeRidder, LA; brother, William Killman & Ginny of Lumberton, TX; sister, Michelle Wortham & Ted of Denison, TX; grandchildren, Emmie Lehr, Jase Lehr and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.


He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Lehr, Sr.; sister, Teresa Lehr Harvey; granddaughter, Baby Angel Lehr; Barbara Lehr; Bill Killman; grandparents, Earl & Murkey Lehr, Myedrick Bellow.


A private memorial service will be held at a later date with Minister Michael Lehr, Priest Steve Rackley and Deacon Linel Washington officiating.
