Willie Paul Burks

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Willie Paul Burks. Willie passed away on August 21, 2026, at the age of 56, in his cherished hometown of DeRidder, Louisiana, where he was born and raised. 

A dedicated roofer by trade, Willie was known for his exceptional skills in the construction industry. He had a remarkable ability to fix anything with his hands, a talent that he took great pride in. His warm spirit and gentle heart were only matched by his passion for fishing, an activity that brought him joy and serenity. 

Willie is survived by his companion, Theresa Stermer, his sister, Rena Faulkner, daughter, Shelby Johnson, and Tasha Darce, along with a host of loving nieces and nephews who will fondly remember their time with him.

Willie was preceded in death by his beloved parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to Myers Colonial Funeral Home.

In this time of grief, we remember Willie not just for the loss we feel but for the laughter, love, and compassion he shared with everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
