It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald Wayne Calcote, 76, who left us on August 19, 2026. Born on March 15, 1950, in DeRidder, Louisiana, Donald lived a full life spent outdoors. He proudly served in the Army and went on to become a dedicated truck driver and dozer operator in the logging industry. Donald was a true outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed every moment spent in nature, whether it was casting a line or tracking the perfect game.
Often found tinkering with various projects, he was a jack of all trades who never turned down an opportunity to help out his family and friends. He had a special gift for making people laugh and was often the jokester among his loved ones, brightening even the darkest days with his humor. Family meant the world to Donald.
He is survived by his sons, Donald Calcote and Robin of DeRidder, LA, Ronald Calcote and Patricia of Leesville, LA; his daughters, Melinda Calcote of DeRidder, LA, Rhonda Calcote and Tracey of Rosepine, LA; grandchildren, Bobby Calcote, Aaron Bullock, Kristin Moses Banks, Amy Snider, Melissa Henry, Meghan Calvit, Leigha Fitkin, Paytin Taylor, Abel Hubbard; great grandchildren, Cason Calcote, Collin Snider, Ricky Calcote, Harper Bullock, Joel Bullock, Sutton Bullock, David Fitkin and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will carry on his legacy of love and laughter.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Collin and Willie Mae Calcote; siblings, Maurice Calcote, Horace Calcote, Dorothy Cordell, Peggy Elser, Carrie Jean Doyle.
Cremation has been entrusted to Myers Colonial Funeral Home.
Rest in peace, Donald. You will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
