Jessie L. LeJune, 87, of DeRidder entered the gates of heaven on November 19, 2018.

Jessie was born in DeRidder and lived in Ragley until he married his wife of over 60 years, Myrtle, in 1956. He joined the United States Navy in 1951, where he served as a Radioman until he entered the Navy Reserves in 1955. Jessie received a Bronze Star during his deployment in the Korean War. In 1955 he continued his career with the Department of Defense as a civilian, from which he retired in 1986 as the Chief of Logistics at Communication Command Headquarters at Fort Polk. He also served as the Director of the MARS (Military Affiliate Radio System) Project.

He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of DeRidder and past member of the DeRidder Kiwanis Club. Jessie was a true spiritual leader of his home, and his faith never wavered, even during his short but courageous battle with cancer.

He is survived by his daughters Debra Arrington of DeRidder and Donna Carter (Allan) of Lake Charles; his four granddaughters, Lacie Carter of Lake Charles, Holly Holland (Michael) of Iowa, Gennifer Burks (Casey) of DeRidder and Gessica Arrington of Lake Charles; two great grandchildren, Lucas and Ryeleigh Burks of DeRidder; two sisters Ethel Cook and Velma Morgan of Lake Charles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Enos and Clemence Goodeaux LeJune of Ragley; one sister, Doris Cole; three brothers Marvin, Milton, and Jimmy LeJune.

Visitation will be Friday, November 23 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.  Graveside services will be Saturday, November 24 at 2 PM at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder with Rev. Lindsey Burns officiating.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation for the love and care Jessie received from Dr. Chuen Kwok, Dr. James Maze, Dr. Leroy Fredericks, Heart of Hospice, and nurse Katherine DeVillier.
