Lana D. Thompson Goins

Lana D. Thompson Goins, 85, of Rosepine, Louisiana, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in Rosepine, surrounded by loved ones.

Lana was a graduate of Rosepine High School and married the love of her life, Ottis Ray, soon after. They were blessed with 57 years of marriage. She spent many years working for VPSB as the secretary at Rosepine Elementary School. In 1989, she earned her most cherished title of “Mimi” and spent her retirement years fulfilling that role to perfection—with lots of love.

Lana is survived by one son, Randy Goins and Kelly of Rosepine; three daughters, Angie Anderson and Rick of Lumberton, TX, Sheila Fazio and Todd of Rosepine, and Amy Fazio Bodei and Bill of Rosepine; her beloved fur baby, Pixie; nine grandchildren, Haley Goins Bethke, Tyler Anderson, Tanner Anderson, Trace Anderson, Tate Fazio, Macy Fazio Cook, Luca Fazio, Lilah Fazio, and Lia Fazio; ten great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

During the last few months of Lana’s life, she was provided with the most tender and loving care by a few angels on earth who quickly became family. Doris Fritze, JoEllen Howell, and Alina Hansch were welcomed into her home, where they provided a safe environment, meals, medication management, personal care, housekeeping, and, most importantly, companionship, grace, and lots of love.

Lana was preceded in death by her parents, Beulah (Blackmon) and Claude Thompson; her husband, Ottis Ray Goins; and her son-in-law, Bart Joseph Fazio.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 4:00pm in the chapel of Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 2:30pm until the time of the service. Rev. Cole Weeks will officiate the service. Burial will follow the service at Rosepine Cemetery.
