Jordan Allen was born on November 14, 2007, at 3:19 p.m. in Eunice, Louisiana, to his loving parents, Ashia Artis-Reed and Andrew Allen. On July 10, 2026, at just 18 years old, Jordan entered into eternal rest after a heroic act of selflessness.
Jordan’s final moments reflected the extraordinary young man he had always been. He gave the greatest gift one person can give—the chance for another to live. His courage, compassion, and selfless spirit will forever define his legacy. He was, and always will be, a true hero.
Jordan accepted Jesus Christ early in life and was raised in the church, where he participated in Sunshine Band and Purity Class. He loved food, experimenting in the kitchen, and helping prepare meals for church events. He was passionate about Beyblades, drawing, painting, and pickleball. Blessed with extraordinary artistic talent, Jordan could sketch nearly anything without a stencil. He also had a unique sense of style that was unmistakably his own. Family and friends will forever smile when they picture him wearing his favorite hair bonnet with headphones seemingly glued to his ears.
In 2017, Jordan moved from DeRidder to Prairieville, where he lived with his dedicated and enduring father, Andrew, and his devoted stepmother, Stacey Eddie Allen, who lovingly helped raise him and cherished him as her own. Jordan attended K.R. Hanchey Elementary, Galvez Middle School, St. Amant High School, and DeRidder High School. He was a member of the Spanish Club and earned recognition as a talented pickleball player, winning several state competitions. Simply put, Jordan was a pickleball beast!
Jordan treasured his family above all else. He shared an unbreakable bond with his mother, Ashia, whose love for him began long before he took his first breath and remained unwavering throughout his life. He also cherished the years spent with his father and stepmother, who guided, encouraged, and loved him as he grew into the remarkable young man he became.
Jordan spent countless precious and revered hours with his grandparents, Carl and Dearlice Allen, affectionately known as “Poppy” and “Granny.” Their home was one of his favorite places, especially because he and his cousin Josh were almost always together. To everyone who knew them, they were more like brothers than cousins. Whether embarking on side quests, inventing backyard adventures, playing video games, competing with Beyblades, or making funny videos, they shared a bond and memories that will last forever.
Jordan also shared a special relationship with his grandfather, Herbert Artis, affectionately known as “PawPaw Herbert.” He loved their adventures hunting deer and hogs, fishing, and helping care for animals. Jordan would eagerly return home with stories about their time together and often asked whether the family could keep chickens and hogs at the house.
He adored his brother, Elijah, and sister, I’mani, and rarely missed an opportunity to surprise them with a thoughtful gift or create something special to make them smile.
To know Jordan was to love him. His infectious smile, playful personality, generous heart, creativity, curiosity, and mischievous streak made him unforgettable. Jordan did things on his own terms and was not always quick to follow advice, but his loving heart and genuine spirit remained undeniable. Though 18 years was far too short, his life reminds us that greatness is not measured by the years we live, but by the love we give, the lives we touch, and the courage we show.
Jordan was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sally Artis; his great-aunts, Margie Hamilton (“Nanny Kay”) and Virginia March (“Aunt Ginny”); and his great-uncles, Donald Williams and Lonnie Williams.
Left to cherish his precious memories are his beloved mother, Ashia Artis Reed; his devoted father, Andrew Allen; his loving stepmother, Stacey Eddie Allen; his caring stepfather, Isreal Reed; his siblings, Elijah Artis and I’mani Reed; his doting grandparents, Carl and Dearlice Allen, Herbert Artis, and Loria Eddie (“Ms. Lo”); his aunts and uncles, Alex Allen (Cassie), Kirby Merritt, LaDon Hill, Mike Canady, Cory Artis, Latissia Fredericks, Alexis Brown (D’marea), and Malasia Williams; his great-aunts, Sharon Lee (Reuben), Yvonne Simien, and Gail Dotson (Larry); his close cousins, Joshua and Joy; his boisterous puppy, Rahlo; and a host of beloved relatives, friends, classmates, and teammates.
