It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Clementine Marie Naquin, who left us on August 8, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on July 6, 1938, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, Marie spent her life spreading kindness and joy in every community she touched, from DeRidder to Shreveport.
A devoted Catholic, Marie was known for her unwavering faith and her warm, friendly spirit. She never met a stranger and had a genuine love for engaging in conversation, making everyone feel welcome and cherished. Outside of her faith, she found great joy in gardening and sewing, spending time when she could, nurturing her plants and creating beautiful things with her hands.
Marie dedicated 35 years of her life to AT&T, working as a telephone operator, where many remembered her not just for her skills but for her friendly demeanor. She was more than just a colleague; she was a friend to everyone.
She is survived by her special friend of more than forty years, Gary Hubbard of Shreveport, LA; sisters, Cadi Pever and John of Soddy-Daisy, TN, Bert Voller and Larry of Pittsburg, PA, Thelma Hanson of Nashville, TN, Rose Kawaguchi of Chicago, Il and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will carry forward her legacy of kindness and generosity.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Rene Pierre and Annie Margaret Robertson Naquin; siblings, Kenneth Naquin, Ruth Mary Crews, Rebecca Cardin, Lillian Crafton.
In celebration of her life, family and friends will gather to honor Clementine in a funeral service at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA, on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM. A visitation will be held prior to the service at 9:00 AM. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will live on in our hearts.
Rest in peace, Marie. Your laughter and kindness will forever resonate in our lives.
