J.B. "Junior" LeDoux

J.B. “Junior” LeDoux, 83, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life at home on Saturday, April 18, 2020 surrounded by family.


Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 62 years, Judy LeDoux of DeRidder, LA; sons, Brian LeDoux and Jerrie of DeRidder, LA, Randall LeDoux and Jenniffer of Spring, TX; daughters, Cindy Kay and William of Burkeville, TX, Phyliss Stephens and Johnny of Leesville, LA; sister, Charlotte Carlin and Kenneth of Carlyss, LA; eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.


JB was born in the Vincent Settlement/Carlyss Louisiana community and was a graduate of Sulphur High School and SLI (ULL) in Lafayette. He held a B.S. in Agriculture Education. He operated LeDoux’s Grocery in Carlyss, Louisiana until he moved his family to the Rosepine area and worked for the Vernon Parish Health Unit.  After 3 years, he purchased a dairy farm in Ikes Community where he farmed for 32 years. JB passionately served the Lord through the Gideon International ministry for 33 years. Many affectionately knew him as the “one-eyed” Gideon. His loving kindness and sense of humor will be truly missed by family and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents, John Bernice, Sr., and Retha Abbott LeDoux.


A private burial will be held at Canaan Cemetery in Leesville, LA.  Pastor Roger Gill will officiate the service.  Pallbearers will be family and friends.  If anyone would like to honor his memory, donations may be made to the DeRidder Gideon Camp at P.O. Box 1014, DeRidder, LA 70634.
