Mistie Machelle Lewis

Mistie Machelle Lewis entered her eternal home surrounded by her family after a brief illness in Baton Rouge, LA June 10, 2025. Mistie was born November 6, 1968, in DeRidder, LA to the parents of Levon and Janet Lewis of DeRidder.

She was a 1986 graduate of Rosepine High School and attended Northwestern State University.

Mistie was actively involved in the family watermelon business and had taken on an integral role of managing it in recent years.

She had a love for deer hunting. Everyone that knew her also knew that her favorite deer stand was her back porch, which had produced many successful hunts for her.

Mistie had a big heart and love for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Wallis Vonallen Lewis; maternal grandparents, Gilbert & Mildred (Healan) Allen and her paternal grandparents, Wallis & Katie (Midkiff) Lewis.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Levon & Janet Lewis of DeRidder, LA and sister, Stacy (Kevin) Cormier of Winnie, TX.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 12:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM at Grace Church in DeRidder, LA. Pastor George Lee Glass will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Mike Bass, Ricky Day, Clyde Day, DeWayne “Bubba” Day, Chance Bass, Ritchie Simmons. Burial will follow at Lewis New Cypress Cemetery in Rosepine, LA.
