Patricia Jean Travis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Jean Travis, who left this world on June 21, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was born on January 16, 1948, in Deridder, Louisiana, to Palmer and Goldie Louise Travis. Pat was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, and friend to all who knew her.

 Patricia was a vibrant spirit, well known for her unwavering love of family and friends. She was often described as the glue that held her loved ones together, offering support and compassion to all who knew her. Patricia's love for gardening brought beauty to her life, as she had a special talent for growing a variety of flowers, and her affection for carnations was widely recognized. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life and deeply valued the bonds she shared with her family. 

Patricia is survived by her two sons, Charles Morrison and wife Mary of Merryville, LA, and Mark Morrison and wife Amanda of Merryville, LA., Grandchildren: Taylor Peterson, Patrick Peterson, London Pointer, Temperance Pointer, Brittany Chevalier, Jennifer Myers, Becca Walker, and Jon Yielding, Eleven Great-Grandchildren, Sister: Susan and Tommy Ackerman, one Aunt: Lena Robberson, Uncle: Grayson Travis, Nephew: Jesse Litton, Nieces: Avon Knowlton, Sarah Courtney, Fayme Bryant, Ashley Allison, and Jennifer Harcum. Her spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched, and her legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire those who remain.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Jesse and Goldie Travis, Grandparents; Babe and Grace Travis and Willie and Vonnie Burks, one sister: Ann Hooper, Grandchild: Rachel Brack.

 A Funeral Service for Patricia Jean Travis will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 1:00pm in the chapel of Myers Colonial Funeral Home. A public viewing is scheduled for 10:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, Louisiana. Brother Randy Hennigan will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be: Taylor Peterson, Patrick Peterson, Edward Knowlton, Charlie Bryant, Dylan Knowlton and Gunner Courtney. Following the service, Patricia will be laid to rest at Cannon Cemetery in Merryville, LA.

 In this time of sorrow, we invite family and friends to come together to honor Patricia’s life and share the love that she so generously gave to others. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
