July 25, 1949 - September 2, 2014

Dwayne Douglas Washington, Sr., 65, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this world to God’s heavenly one on Tuesday, September 2, 2014.  He was the beloved father of two children, daughter, Goldie Washington Ramsay of Marietta, GA; and son, Dwayne Douglas Washington, Jr. and wife Chantel Washington of West Palm Beach, Fl; five grandchildren, Dwayne Douglas Washington III, Jalen-Claude Russel Washington, Malachi Tyrone Washington, London Woodly Ramsay, and Egypt Alexandria Ramsay.  He is also survived by his sisters, Olivia Washington Breland and her husband W.L. Breland of DeRidder, LA, and Demetrial T. Washington of DeRidder, LA, brothers, Ollie Washington, Jr. and wife, Buddy Washington of Augusta, GA, and Willie A. Washington of DeRidder, LA.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie Washington, Sr. and Eria Griffith Washington; brothers, Tommie E. Washington and Travis Washington; and sister-in-law, Debra Washington. 

 Because Dwayne was a lover of family, he will also be missed by his cousins who were like brothers and sisters to him.  Dwayne’s great loves were many, but he especially loved communing with nature by way of fishing.  His infectious smile and contagious laughter will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family appreciates all thought and prayers.  Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 10:00am until 11:00am at Norris Temple Church of God in Christ with Funeral services to proceed at 11:00am.  Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
