Douglas Edward Novak

Feb 1, 1952 — Oct 25, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Edward Novak, a devoted father, hardworking electrician, and passionate outdoorsman, who left this world on October 25, 2026, at the age of 74.

Born on February 1, 1952, in Detroit, MI, Douglas spent most of his working life as an electrician at the Boise Paper Mill, where he dedicated himself to his craft from 1983 until his retirement in 2019.

Douglas was a hard-working man. He understood the value of putting in an honest day's work, doing what needed to be done, and providing for the people who mattered to him. He was the kind of man who didn't need to say a lot to show what he was made of. His actions, his work ethic, and the way he lived his life spoke for themselves.

Douglas was also an outdoorsman and a hunter. The outdoors was a place where he could find adventure, peace, and a connection to the world around him. Hunting takes patience, determination, and respect for nature. Those who enjoy it understand that it's about more than the hunt. It's about the early mornings, the quiet moments, the stories shared, and the memories made along the way.

Douglas leaves behind his beloved children, Douglas Novak and Amy of Woodland Park, Tina Novak of DeRidder, LA and Annette Wannemacher and Nicholas of Hubert, NC; brothers, Dennis Novak, DeWayne Novak, Dale Novak, all of Ravenna, OH; grandchildren, Rebecca Craft and Cody, Katherine Martin, Brady Novak, Olivia Wannemacher, Cohen Wannemacher; great grandchildren, Cooper, Gatlin, Landry, Amelia, Carter, Mason, Logan and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and were touched by his quiet strength and kindness.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, James Novak and Lois Novak; brother, David Novak; sister, Diane Novak.

A graveside service will be held at Lewis Cemetery on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 12:30 PM, where friends and family will gather to celebrate Douglas's life. Prior to the service, there will be a public visitation at Myers Colonial Funeral Home beginning at 10:00 AM. Douglas will be laid to rest at Lewis Cemetery following the graveside service. Father Baba will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be family and friends.

In honoring Douglas's legacy, let us remember the man who worked hard, cherished his family, and found peace in nature. May he rest in peace.
