John Albert Windham

It is with great heartache that we announce the passing of our beloved, John Albert Windham, age 69, of DeRidder, Louisiana. John was peacefully escorted to heaven on the morning of Wednesday October 14, 2026, surrounded by his wife Paula and family. Born August 13, 1957 in DeRidder, Louisiana, to Albert P. Windham and Melba Brown Windham. John Albert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and businessman, who proudly served the town of DeRidder as CPA at Windham & Reed, and the city auditor. His life was filled with adventure, travel, many hobbies, and most importantly the love of his family. His generosity and kindness touched the lives of those who knew him, and left an eternal footprint for years to come.

John took life by the handlebars figuratively and literally, enjoying many activities including cycling, hunting, NASCAR, SEC football, and motorcross. He cherished these things dearly, and loved sharing his passions with the ones he loved most, creating lasting memories, many jokes, and a lifetime of reminiscences to look back on.

He is survived by his wife, Paula James Windham, his step daughter Emily and husband Caleb Hites, and was the proud grandfather to three grandchildren, Iris, Jackson, and Ivy. He will be cherished and remembered by numerous friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his loving parents. While John may have left our earthly world, his spirit and memory remain engrained in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and will live on for years to come.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 19, 2026, at 11:00am, at Grace Church.
