Danny Kirk was born to the union of Claudell and Ernestine Kirk on July 9, 1957 in DeRidder, Louisiana.  He departed this life on Friday, January 6, 2023 in the home of his son, David and family.

Danny was reared in DeRidder and educated in the public school system of Beauregard Parish.

Danny married Kelly Engrum Kirk.  For many years Danny was employed by Morris Tire Service.

During his rearing Danny was a member of the Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Pastor Woodrow W. Batties.  Danny reunited with Star of Bethlehem in 2018.  On Thursday, January 5, 2023 Pastor Michael Harris offered Christ to Danny and he accepted and was offered baptism and again he accepted; Pastor Harris baptized him at that time.

Those who will remember Danny in their hearts are; his sons, Danny Rochelle Kirk, Jr., Lake Charles, LA, David (Breanna) Carhee, DeRidder, LA, Marcus Engrum, Colonial Heights, VA, Ivan (Michelle) Johnson, Antijuan Johnson, Desmond Piper, Shawn (Marrisa) Piper, Baton Rouge, LA; Daughters, LaTasha Engrum, DeRidder, LA; 22 grandchildren; Brothers, James (Sharon) Henton, Lake Charles, LA, Perry Kirk, Lawton, OK; Sister, Sondra Butler, Baton Rouge, LA; Uncle, Simeon Simmons, Los Angelas, CA; Aunts, Theda Williams, Bronx, NY, Ora Willis, San Diego, CA; Neice, Monica Davis; Cousins, Edith (Melvin) Thompson, Jacquelyn Anderson and other family and friends.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Glendell Kirk-Davis, Son, Ruben Piper, grandson, Ja’Veon Jarrell Engrum.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Keith Stephenson will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.
