John Paul McMillian, Jr., 64, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Thursday, March 21, 2024.


John McMillian Jr. was a man whose presence graced our lives in ways beyond measure. John was not merely a husband, father, son, brother, or friend; he was a beacon of strength, love, and wisdom to all who knew him.


John's legacy is woven into the fabric of our lives, enriching us with his unwavering love and boundless kindness. He touched the hearts of his children, grandchildren, and countless others, leaving an indelible mark of inspiration and guidance.


A true Renaissance man, John's passion for knowledge and creation knew no bounds. Whether he was working with his hands on a project, sharing his expertise as a carpenter or computer engineer, or simply engaging in a game of cards, his zest for life was infectious.


John's thirst for knowledge was insatiable. He immersed himself in books of all kinds, seeking to understand the world around him with a keen eye for detail. His wisdom was a wellspring from which all who sought guidance could draw, and his counsel was cherished by many.


Even in the face of adversity, John remained steadfast and courageous. His battle with terminal cancer was met with unwavering strength and a heart filled with love. Never once did he complain of the pain or sickness; instead, he faced each day with grace and dignity, a testament to his remarkable character.


John's love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He took pride in their accomplishments, cherished their moments together, and held them close to his heart every single day.


His legacy of love, courage, and wisdom will continue to inspire us for generations to come. As we bid farewell to a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, let us take comfort in knowing that John's light will shine on in our hearts forevermore.


Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of thirty-nine years, BeaBea McMillian of Merryville, LA; sons, John Paul McMillian III and Heather of Hankamer, TX, Joseph McMillian and Alondra of Hankamer, TX, Jacob McMillian and MJ of Merryville, LA, Jared McMillian and Christine of Merryville, LA; daughters, Laura Matlock and Billy of DeRidder, LA, Julie McMillian-Phelps and Ben of Hankamer, TX, Joanna Lounsberry and Seth of DeRidder, LA, Joy Yarolimek and David(who is currently serving our country overseas) of Rapid City, SD; parents, John Paul, Sr., and Bonnie McMillian of Merryville, LA; brothers, Jesse McMillian and Teresa of Sugartown, LA, James McMillian and Belinda of DeRidder, LA, Jerry McMillian and Sandra of Merryville, LA, Jeff McMillian and Dawn of Merryville, LA; grandchildren, Gavin, Kinsley, Kaliah, Audrey, Ezekiel, John IV, Lincoln, Emma, Elissa, Logan, Marli, Gideon, Luke, Max, Ben, Ari, Rebecca, Bonnie, Derek, Owen and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.


Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 AM at Dry Creek Baptist Church in Dry Creek, LA. Brother Charlie Bailey and Brother Kevin Coward will officiate the service.
