Melisa Renee’ Monceaux, 18, of Merryville, Louisiana passed from this life on December 13, 2011 in Lafayette, Louisiana. Melisa was a 2011 graduate of Merryville High School.

Survivors include: her parents, Michael & Corrine Monceaux of Merryville; her mother, Michele Toureau of Marksville, Louisiana; 5 brothers, Micheal Monceaux, Jr. of Merryville, Jeremy St. Romain of Hessmer, LA, Clebert St. Romain of Deville, LA, Ricky St. Romain of Marksville, LA and Ray St. Romain of Merryville; one sister, Anna Bolenbaucher also of Merryille and paternal grandmother, JoAnn Watts of Effie, LA.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents: Enola Toureau, Ray Toureau and Jerry Burlew.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2011 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011 also at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder.  Bro. Jacob Crawford will officiate.  Burial will follow at Old Cypress Cemetery in DeRidder.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, floor 4 west, especially Dr. Maria Velez. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society’s Patrick F. Taylor Hope Lodge in New Orleans, LA.
