Mary L. Landry

Mary L. Landry, 69, of DeRidder, Louisiana, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 18, 2012.  Mary L. Landry was one of six children born in Deweyville, Texas to the union of the late Andrew Guillory and Samantha Hubbard Guillory, who both preceded her in death. She was baptized at an early age at Bethel A.M.E. Church. She served as secretary, Sunday School teacher and Superintendent. She received Christ as her personal Savior and was a firm believer. Sis. Landry attended George Washington Carver under the supervision of Mr. Cornelius King. Some of her employment history includes, One Hour Cleaners and the Beauregard Parish Jail.


Mrs. Landry’s late husband, Charlie Landry and son Michael Landry both preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memory: 6 sons, Gerald (Karen) Palmer of Lake Charles, La.;  Roy, Christopher and Harold of DeRidder; Pitius Landry, Charlie (Kim) Guillory, and 1 daughter, Shannon Mark; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, 1 brother, Willie (Paula) Guillory, 1 sister, Rosa (Floyd) Cole, a special godchild, Latonia Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Sweet Home Baptist Church in DeRidder, Louisiana. Funeral service will be Tuesday April 24, 2012 at 1:00pm at Sweet Home Baptist Church.  Burial will follow at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder, Louisiana.  Rev. Freddie Thomas will officiate.
