It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Virginia Lee Wilson, who left us on October 27, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on February 20, 1939, in Houston, TX. She later moved to the DeRidder area with her family in 1945. Virginia lived a life full of love and generosity, forever leaving her mark on those fortunate enough to know her.
Virginia was a dedicated receptionist for her brother-in-law, Dr. H.A. Bremer, but Virginia spent much of her life caring for others. Her compassion shone brightly as she took care of family members, including her Aunt Hettie, who had cerebral palsy, and her mother during her final years battling cancer and dementia. Anyone who knew Virginia could attest to the fact that she was truly a blessing to her family-she was a saint in their eyes.
A woman with a zest for life, Virginia loved to travel, often exploring the stunning National Parks across the country. Some of her most cherished memories were spent on adventures to California and the Grand Tetons with her best friend, Linda Evans. A lover of stories, she could often be found immersed in a book, and she found solace and strength in her daily Bible readings.
Virginia is survived by her brother, Ben F. Wilson of Kingwood, TX, and her sisters, Katherine Davis of Richmond, VA, Carolyn Carroll and James of Vestavia, AL, and Elaine Bremer of DeRidder, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who will each carry her memory in their hearts.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gertrude Wilson.
To honor Virginia's life, funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, followed by a burial at Smyrna Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a public viewing on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Brother Jon Tellifero will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Virginia Lee Wilson's spirit will continue to resonate with us all, reminding us of the importance of kindness, faith, and family. Rest in peace, dear Virginia-you will be missed beyond measure.
