It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Virginia Louise Kelly Perkins, who left us on November 20, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on August 12, 1951, in Jasper, TX, Virginia spent her life devoted to her family and friends.
Virginia was a proud homemaker and a cherished member of her community. She poured her heart into raising her children, who will forever carry her loving spirit with them.
She is survived by her children, Ronnie Bailey and Tammy of DeRidder, LA, Sharon Mougeot and Frank of Kinder, LA, Allen Perkins and Lynda of Rosepine, LA; Virginia was also a beloved sister to Bill Kelly and Debbie of Leggett, TX, Jane Wyatt and Jack of Leggett, TX, Tommie Brister of DeRidder, LA, and she took immense joy in being a grandmother to her adoring grandkids: Cody Bailey, Tiffany Bailey, Gary Suydam, Christie Bridges, Aaron Bailey, Courtney Suydam and Madison Perkins; twelve great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Kennie Perkins, Jr.; parents, Tom and Sybil Kelly; son, Jerry Bailey; sisters, Stella Keel and Della Keel; grandson, Kelly Bailey.
Virginia had a big heart and a zest for life. She was an active member of Mercy Bible Church in Rosepine, LA, where she found friendship and fellowship. She had a love for roses and a passion for going on cruises - she especially cherished her trip to Kentucky to visit The Ark. You could often find her enjoying seafood, fishing, crocheting, or donning a pair of her favorite shoes, all while sporting her favorite color, red.
To honor Virginia's memory, family and friends will gather for a public viewing at Myers Colonial Funeral Home on Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM, also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Pastor Joseph Maddox will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Gary Suydam, Stephen Richmond, Jimmy Reid, Wayne Richmond, Frank Mougeot, David Keel. Honorary pallbearer will be Steve Keel. Virginia will be laid to rest following the service in Good Hope Cemetery, in Singer, LA.
Virginia Louise Perkins will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who knew her.
