Tommy Lee Thomas was born July 10, 1950. He transitioned from this life to his eternal life on August 18, 2025, at the age of 75.

Tommy was the son of Alberta Thomas Hamilton, and the late George Hamilton from Kirbyville, TX. They moved to Merryville, LA later in Tommy’s life.

He joined the Job Corp and received his GED and then went to work for Merryville General Hospital as an ambulance driver and a housekeeper, stripping and waxing the hospital floors. He later became a truck driver for Ricky Day Trucking until he retired.

Tommy joined Antioch Baptist Church on June 6, 2006, under the late Rev. John Dartez and was a dedicated member until hurricanes Laura and Delta hit the church and he found another church home in DeRidder, LA.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Barbara Faye Thomas; one son, Tommy Lee Thomas II and Michele, all of Merryville, LA; his big sister, Willie B. Johnson of Tyler, TX; one granddaughter, Christina Cole Thomas; his cousin, Booker T. Myers and Lucille and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, other family and friends.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Alberta Thomas Hamilton and George Hamilton; his uncle, Johnny Thomas; aunts, Cora Samuel Davis, Jessie Mae Samuel Beaty, Hattie Samuel Myers.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Pastor Timothy M. Owens will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Edgar Wayne Spikes, Jr., Obie R. Williams, John Hooper, Bo Hooper, Quentin Williams, Tevin Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Thomas, II, Barry Thompson, Jared Gill, Elijah Williams, Anthony Wayne Gill Thompson, Justice Hudson, Bobby Wesley Whiddon, Kenneth Wentworth, Doug Flemones. Burial will follow in Merryville North Cemetery in Merryville, LA.
