Rebecca Lanier Clouse

December 6, 1941 — December 4, 2025

DeRidder, Louisiana

Rebecca Lanier Clouse, a beloved mother, grandmother, friend, and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025, just shy of her 84th birthday. Born on December 6, 1941, in Elizabeth, Louisiana, Rebecca was the fourth daughter of Bill and Grace Lanier. She spent her life in DeRidder, where she raised her three boys with unwavering love and support.

Mother loved her work of many years with the Beauregard Parish Police Jury where she worked as a secretary. She dearly loved greeting the public and the work crews when they would come in on a daily basis. She wore a huge smile when someone would come into the office in need of information or help with any parish related issue. She was a true servant of the people of this parish. When she was not working mom would spend her time crocheting and quilting where she made many garments and quilts which she happily gave away. She has sewn many blankets and clothes for family and friends' newborn children throughout the years. Her real passion was cooking! She made the most wonderful holiday yeast rolls and gave these away to many for people's holiday meals. When she cooked it was for an army it seemed like but her raising three overgrown boys' kind of made this a necessity rather than a hobby. Mother always provided anything we boys wanted or needed, and this translated out to more of the family because she dearly loved all her nieces and nephews and kept up with all their families through face book or word of mouth.

Rebecca will be dearly missed by her sons, Donald Lanier Clouse and Becky, Brad Clouse and Ginger, all of DeRidder, LA; daughter in law, DeAnna Eder and Allen Eder; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, family and the countless friends and community members whose lives she touched with her kindness and generosity.

Rebecca is preceded in death by her oldest son, Harold J. Clouse, Jr.; parents, Bill and Grace Lanier; siblings, Betty Mansell, Virginia Medeiros, Wynona MacDonald.

Funeral services will be held to honor Rebecca's life and legacy. Family and friends will gather to celebrate her memory at a visitation on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA, where stories, laughter, and love will be shared.
