Sandra Gail Perry Lee

Sandra “Sandy” Gail Perry Lee, born on August 28, 1953, in Lexington, Ms., was welcomed into Heaven on September 24, 2025.

Sandy had a lifelong love for animals and enjoyed being outdoors. Caring for her many horses and riding was where she was happiest. Known for her generous and steady spirit, Sandy was not one to say “no” but instead to ask “when” and always ready with advice and guidance to help animals.

Over the years, Sandy held many jobs, but she found her true passion in opening Paws-N-Claws Grooming in the early 1990s. She first established her business in DeRidder, Louisiana, before moving it to Jasper, Texas, where she faithfully served both communities for more than 30 years. Her unlimited love for animals extended beyond her business into her volunteer work with Spay-Neuter Initiative Pet Society (S.N.I.P.S.) of Jasper, Texas and many other organizations.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Helen Perry; her brother, Jerry D. Perry; and her daughter, Stacey Lee Hewitt.

She is survived by her brother, Bobby D. Perry of Houston, Texas; her daughter, Paige Lee Borel (Phillip) of DeRidder, Louisiana; her life partner, Oliver Crumedy of Jasper, Texas; and her beloved grandchildren, Megan Borel King (Chris) of Pearland, Texas, Ryan Borel (Yanci) of Natchitoches, Louisiana and Cody Hewitt of DeRidder, Louisiana. She especially cherished watching her great-grandchildren—Cooper King, Swayze King, and Heidi Borel—play in the yard and hearing stories about their latest adventures. Sandy was blessed with a special bond with her “sister in love,” Lillie Weatherspoon, as well as many friends and caregivers who loved her dearly.

Her kindness, strength, and deep love for family and animals will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 3:00 PM until the time of memorial service at 5:00 PM at New Life Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Brother Mike Mitchell will officiate the service. Cremation has been entrusted to Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.
