Sallie Mae Ford

On October 21, 2025, Sallie Mae Klenk Ford of Sugartown, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at the age of 74. She was born on August 15, 1951, in Munford, Tennessee, to James and Charlie Mae Klenk. 

Sallie was known for her heart of gold, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Her passion for the simple joys of life was evident in her love for being outside, admiring the beauty of nature that surrounded her, and spending as much time as she could with family. There was never a dull moment when Sallie was around; she had countless stories to share, filled with humor, wisdom, and an unmistakable zest for life. 

Sallie leaves behind a loving family that includes her four children, Kenneth Billings and wife Kristi, Teresa Ferrell and husband Ronnie, Theresa Farris and husband Johnny, Tammy Plumley, as well as 17 grandchildren; Christian Cortez, Troy and Kelci Ferrell, Kimberly Reeves, Kalyn and Steven Hoke, Corey Ford, Steven and Chesney Dauzat, Wyatt Farris, Kara Ford, Morgan Billings, Lindsey Billings, Kyle Billings, Jaiden Billings, Ian Billings, Myranda and Travis Campbell, Jonathan and Brayli Plumley, Madison Houghs, and Jordan Plumley; an incredible 28 great-grandchildren. Her legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will forever remain in their hearts. 

Sallie was preceded in death by: her parents, her husband; John Ford Sr, her stepson, John “Johnny” Ford Jr, and her siblings; James “Bubba” Klenk, Charlene Landrum, Joe Klenk, Shirley Lott, and Deanie Klenk.

James “Bubba” Klenk entered into heaven with his sister, Sallie, within 30 minutes of each other.

Cremation has been entrusted to Myers Colonial Funeral Home.

Sallie Mae Ford will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered, a true embodiment of compassion and community spirit. May she rest in peace.
