Royce Calvin Ashworth, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on August 28, 1957, in Deridder, Louisiana, to Louis and Lucille Ashworth. Royce spent his life connecting with nature and the open road as a dedicated truck driver in the logging industry.
Royce’s love for the woods was matched only by his passion for driving log trucks, where he found solace and joy in the vastness of the forest. Known for his quiet demeanor, Royce was a man of few words, yet his presence spoke volumes. Those who were fortunate enough to know him will remember his warm smile, and a bright light in the lives of many.
He is survived by his daughters, Crystal Ashworth of Westlake, LA, and Ashley Willison and husband Randy of Arkansas. Siblings, Louis Ashworth and wife Shannon of Sulphur, LA and Kathy Ashworth of Leesville, LA., with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Royce was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Linda Ozan and husband Dennis, and Kenneth Ashworth.
A funeral service will be held at Myers Colonial Funeral Home on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM. A visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, allowing those who loved him to pay their respects. Burial will follow the service at Good Hope Baptist Cemetery in Singer, LA.
