Ronnie Lethan Franks

Ronnie Lethan Franks, 75, of DeRidder, LA passed away on February 27, 2026.

Ronnie was born in DeRidder, LA to Jack Dempsey and Alva Franks on February 22, 1951. He worked for KCS Railroad for over thirty years before retiring. Ronnie's passions were fishing and being on the lake and working on and restoring vintage Mopar vehicles. He loved spending time with his family and he especially treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren. Ronnie is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Ruth Chevalier and his parents, Jack Dempsey and Alva Lucille Smith Franks.

Ronnie is survived by his companion, Linda Joyce King of DeRidder, LA; son, Chad Franks and Vanda of DeRidder, LA; daughters, Tara Cudd and Craig of Lake Charles, LA, Angela Hollis and Glenn of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Payge Mills and Halston, Macy Jackson and Kylin, Abie Cudd, Mallory King, Alex Cudd, Lane Jackson, Aryanna Sherk, Violet Franks, Beretta Franks; great grandchildren, Kolton, Maelee and Makenna Jackson and Gunner Mills along with a host of cousins, other family and friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA. Cremation has been entrusted to Myers Colonial Funeral Home following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ronnie’s memory to MD Anderson Cancer Center (gifts.mdanderson.org).
