It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rick Edward Hatfield, who passed away on June 22, 2026, at the age of 56.
Rick was preceded in death by his mother, Lisa Pauline Hatfield; Father Robert Click, brother, Morris Maynard Jr.; grandmother, Ella Jay Hatfield; and uncles, Tandy Wright and Ted Wright. Brother in-law Chuckie McKnight and Grandmother in-law Lenora Strevels.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Tonia Hatfield; his sons, Jeromi Hatfield and Blake Hatfield and wife, Sharon; his step-granddaughter, Emma; his brother, Ruben Hatfield and wife, Jennifer; his mother- and father-in-law, Janett and Darrell Thompson; his brothers-in-law, Dylan Thompson and wife, Karly, and Hunter Thompson; along with countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends whom he loved with all his heart.
Rick loved deeply and gave generously. He never hesitated to help anyone in need and was known for his kindness, strength, and willingness to lend a hand. He spent many years working on transmission power lines, a career he truly loved and took great pride in. The people he worked beside often said he taught them so much, and they cherished every minute they had working with him.
Rick also loved working on vehicles and enjoyed woodworking. Some of his happiest moments were spent traveling and vacationing with family and friends. Even while traveling, Rick would always find himself admiring the power lines in the distance—something that never stopped capturing his attention and reflected the passion he had for his work.
Above all, Rick was a wonderful man whose presence brought comfort, laughter, strength, and love to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rick fought a long and difficult battle with cancer. Through every hardship, he never gave up. His mind and heart kept fighting even when his body could no longer continue. During his battle, he showed everyone around him what true strength, courage, and perseverance look like.
Though he is no longer with us, the love he gave, the lessons he taught, and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
Cremation has been entrusted to Myers Colonial Funeral Home.
