Patsy Irene Brister McLeod, 66, of Singer, LA passed from this life on Tuesday, November 19, 2013. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gerald M. (Mike) McLeod of Singer, LA: Stepdaughter, Patti Bonin and husband (Keith) of DeQuincy, LA. Stepson, Roy McLeod and wife Stephanie of Sour Lake, TX. Step granddaughters, Nikki and Darci Bonin of DeQuincy, LA and  Step grandsons, Logan, Landon and Luke McLeod of Sour Lake, TX: Brothers, Scotty, Bud, James, Steve, Stanley and Stoney Brister.

She was preceded in death by her father, Riley Brister, mother, Audrey Whitaker Brister and step granddaughter, Jordan McLeod.

Mrs. McLeod was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Singer, LA.She obtained her LPN license in Woodville, TX. In the DeRidder area she has worked with Home Health and two General Practitioners. In addition, she has worked at Phelps Correctional Institution and West Cal Cam Hospital. Mrs. McLeod formerly owned and operated DeRidder Truck Stop and Restaurant west of DeRidder. One of her most enjoyable hobbies was working with her husband on the family ranch and cattle farm. She also assisted him with various activities associated with the Police Jury and the State Executive Board. Her passion was serving the Beauregard Community through the BCAA  (Beauregard Community Action Association) and the Council On Aging.

Visitation will be held, Friday, November 22, 2013 from 5-10 PM at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA and from 12 PM until time of service on Saturday at Good Hope Baptist Church in Singer, LA. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 2PM at Good Hope Baptist Church in Singer, LA.

Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery in Singer, LA. Bro. Steve Ramsey, Bro. Donnis Ashworth and Bro. Samuel (Sambo) Ashworth will officiate.
