Olivia Marie Johnson

Our beloved wife, mother, and MawMaw, Olivia ”Moosie” Marie Johnson, 71, went to Heaven on April 15, 2024, surrounded by her loving husband, children, and grandchildren.

Olivia was known for her good cooking, especially her cherished Sunday dinners with her family, her kind heart, sense of humor, and love for having a big Christmas gathering of all her kids and grandkids. She was a school bus driver for the Vernon Parish School Board for twenty years before retiring and joining her husband’s side at their tire shop, where she opened a small boutique. Moosie and Pete were inseparable, working and enjoying life side by side for fifty-one years. Above all, she loved going to church, her church family, and loved God. She was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in DeRidder, LA where she brought up and taught her children to be God fearing and the importance of living for God. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed.

Olivia was the heart of our home and family. She was a devoted and loving wife to Lavell “Pete” Johnson for fifty-one wonderful years and held his hand until the end.

Together, they raised six children, Shonda Burgess and Glen of Pickering, LA, Brent Johnson and Kendra of Pitkin, LA, Tanya Jeane and Shane of DeRidder, LA, Jamie Johnson and Kelly Blackmon of DeRidder, LA, Trista Johnson and Jeremy Glaze of Pitkin, LA, and Tamara Johnson of Rosepine, LA in a happy and loving home to be God fearing and thoughtful adults.

She was a fun-loving MawMaw to Natasha Shell, Dylan Burgess, Blaize Burgess, Logan Cheever, Bryleigh Jeane, Madelyn Hollie, Kayleigh Alexander, Colt Johnson, Case Cheever, Kinzleigh Johnson, and Gatlin Johnson. Always ready to take a vacation with her children and grandchildren and spoiling each of them.

Olivia is also survived by her siblings, Pat Styron of Hackberry, LA and Becky Thomas of Cottonwood, LA, and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tansy and Idell Davis, and her brothers, Louie Ray Davis, and Joe Davis.
