Norman Wayne Cooley

Norman Wayne Cooley, a lifelong resident of Merryville, Louisiana, passed away on May 10, 2025, at the age of 63. He was born on December 17, 1961, in Merryville, where he spent most of his life. Wayne was known for his kind heart, straightforward nature, and his knack for fixing things.

In his younger years, Wayne worked as a mechanic. Most recently, he worked as a stocker at the Merryville Truck Stop, where he was well-liked by his coworkers and customers alike.

Wayne is survived by his brother, Warren Cooley and Mila of Merryville, LA, and his sister, Wanda Cordero and Luis of Texas and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was a simple man who found joy in the little things in life.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Jerald Cooley, Sr. and Margaret Ann Cooley.

A celebration of Wayne's life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Bivens Cemetery Pavillion in Merryville, Louisiana. His family invites friends and loved ones to come together to honor his memory and share stories in the spirit of camaraderie that he embodied.
