Nancy Ellen McCollough

Nancy Ellen McCollough Dickson, a lifelong resident of Beauregard Parish passed from this life at 2:35 AM on Sunday, July 25, 2021 in her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born at home on January 7, 1950 and spent her childhood with a loving mother and siblings. She attended DeRidder schools and graduated from DeRidder High School in 1969. Nancy was a great mother, GiGi, aunt and sister. She wanted everyone to always think of her when they hear the song “Spirit in the Sky”.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Don Dickson; mother, Laura McCurley McCollough; father, Clifford McCollough; daughter, Melinda Dickson; brother, Hampton (Button) McCollough; sons-in-law, David Walker and Dean Calcote; nephew, Jason Sheridan.


She is survived by two sisters, Charlotte Sheridan (Jack) of Arlington, TX, Helen Brister of DeRidder, LA; children, Tina Calcote, Melissa Dickson Courtney (Quincy), Billy Dickson (Charlotte), Joe Tom Dickson (Heather), Shauna Dickson, all of DeRidder, LA. eleven grandchildren, Joseph Dickson, Annaleigh Dickson, James Dickson, Jade Walker, Tyler Walker (Kyle Dillon), Allie Walker, Knox Walker, Bryce Dickson, Gage Dickson, Drew Dickson, all of DeRidder, LA, Madison Jenzarli of Houston, TX; five great grandchildren, D.J., Dixon, Maysn, Jayvin, Rhett and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.


She will be cremated and her ashes will be buried at the foot of her mother’s grave in Newlin Cemetery in Singer, LA September 5, 2021.


A special thank you to Brighton Bridge Hospice for the exemplary care provided to her by her nurses, Cindy B., Anna D., and her special friend CNA, Bethany. We also want to thank everyone who helped out in any way especially “C-Rose”, her personal nurse and daughter-in-law who did all she could to keep her comfortable and smiling through both times of sickness until she went home to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
