Myron "Madge" Perkins Cruse

October 28, 1937 — February 12, 2026

Merryville, Louisiana

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Myron "Madge" Perkins Cruse, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on February 12, 2026, at the age of 88. Madge was born on October 28, 1937, in Silsbee, Texas, and spent her life creating a loving home in Merryville, Louisiana.

As a devoted homemaker, Madge was the glue that held her family together. She was married to her wonderful husband, Harvey Cruse of Merryville, LA, for an incredible 62 years and two months, supporting him and their family with unwavering love. Madge took great joy in her role as a mother to Janet Ashworth, Allen Cruse and Tricia, and Brenda Franks and VJ, all of Junction, LA. She cherished her grandchildren, Valerie Franks and Ethan Jeane, Karlynn Shuff and Tanner, Anna Duckworth and Zachary, Austin Cruse and Leeann, Ethan Ashworth and Autumn, as well as her eleven great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild. Her memory will also be cherished by her sister, Grace Hope Jones of FL and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Madge was preceded in death by: Reverend Elmer E. and Lela Herrin Perkins; siblings, James Perkins, Sr., Mary Simmons, Rachel Driver and John Perkins.

Madge was known for her adventurous spirit, traveling the world and making countless memories, especially on sunny beaches. She found joy in the little things, whether it was sitting on her front porch soaking up the sun or indulging in her favorite Mexican food. Her love for roses blossomed like the beautiful flowers she adored.

A fiercely competitive spirit, Madge loved playing board games and had a trademark humor that brought laughter to her family. Her creative ways of hiding money in the grandchildren's Christmas gifts were legendary-who would have thought to look under the jar of olives for a surprise?

Though she has departed from us, Madge leaves behind a legacy of faith and love. She read her Bible every night and inspired those around her with her steadfast devotion.

A graveside service will be held to honor her life on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Hinson Cemetery in Knight Community, beginning at 9:00 AM. Brother Jim Vanover will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Madge will always be remembered for her warmth, wit, and the vibrant life she led.

Rest in peace, Madge. You will be dearly missed and forever cherished in our hearts.
