Mila LeAnn Cooley, a loving mother, grandmother and wife, passed from this life on December 22, 2025, in DeRidder, LA. Born August 30, 1959, in DeRidder, LA, she lived all of her life in Merryville, LA. She graduated 5th in the class of 1977 and was a gifted student and athlete. She lettered in basketball and track; she was a cheerleader and played clarinet in the band.
She is survived by her loving husband of forty-seven years, Warren Cooley of Merryville, LA; sons, Brandon Cooley and Jennifer of Merryville, LA, Jared Cooley of Alexandria, LA; daughter, Amanda Cooley of Pickering, LA; her beloved grandchildren, Bryten Cooley of Bossier City, LA, Brylee Cooley of Sugartown, LA, Sadie Jo Cooley of Merryville, LA, Shailyn Cooley and Aleyah Cooley of Pickering, LA, Malachi Davis of Pickering, LA, Canaan Cooley, Carson Cooley and Marleigh Cooley of Longville, LA, Lane Hamilton of Fort Lewis, WA and Sydney Hamilton of Fort Humphreys, South Korea; brother, Dennis Daniels and Janet of Merryville, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Mila was preceded in death by her parents, Robert C. and Patsy Daniels and her brothers, Donnie, Ronnie and Robbie Daniels.
Mila was a great cook, a hard worker and devoted her life to family. She loved making quilts and crocheting afghans for her children and grandchildren. She worked at Slaydon’s Grocery store for a number of years and then for the United States Postal Service in Merryville, LA for nineteen years. She was loved by all who knew her and was affectionately known as “Gammy” by the grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at Lone Pine Church of Christ in Merryville, LA. Cary Cooley and Brandon Cooley will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Warren Cooley, Brandon Cooley, Bryten Cooley, Malachi Davis, Fate Cooper and Jared Cooley. Burial will follow the service at Bivens Cemetery in Bivens, LA.
