Merle Jean Read Craft

Merle Jean Read Craft, 84, of Merryville, LA, passed from this life on Monday, December 27, 2021.

Those left to cherish her memory are her, son, Charles Craft, Jr. and Susan of Merryville, LA; daughter, Teri Miller and James of Merryville, LA; grandchildren, Jason Miller, Megan McGrew, Evelyn Craft; great grandchildren; Justin Miller, Jarrett Miller, Jace Miller, William McGrew, Jude McGrew, Coen Craft and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Craft, Sr.; parents, Leon and Bessie Read; grandchildren, Charles Leon Craft, Melissa “Missy” Miller; brothers, Gerald Read, Bill Read, John Read; sisters, Ida Mae Hennigan, Eula Hare, Aileen Read.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Cannon Cemetery, in Merryville, LA. Reverend Scotty Poole will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Charlie Craft, Jr., Will McGrew, Jude McGrew, Jason Miller, Justin Miller, Jarrett Miller, Jace Miller, and Bruce Read.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Merle’s name and mailed to the Cannon Cemetery Fund in c/o Dale Young at 260 Bart Young Road, Merryville, LA, 70653.
