Mary Louise Johnson

January 6, 1973 — July 10, 2025

Cravens, Louisiana

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Louise Fontenot Johnson of Cravens, LA, who left this world peacefully at Rapides Medical Center on July 10, 2025, at the age of 52. Born on January 6, 1973, in Lake Charles, LA, Mary was a vibrant spirit who brought joy and laughter to everyone who knew her.

Mary was a proud custodian at Stine Lumber Company, where she worked hard but always found a moment to share her quick wit and colorful vocabulary. She was a true homebody at heart, who loved nothing more than spending time with her cherished children and grandchildren. Mary had a special place in her heart for her chickens, ducks, and geese, and her passion for plants turned her home into a little paradise.

A Bigfoot enthusiast and an adventurous soul, she enjoyed hunting and fishing when the fish were biting, and the trips were short. She loved her kids and grandkids fiercely and always had a sassy remark ready to make everyone laugh. As her family often joked, "The world couldn't have handled another one of her," but they can't imagine life without her.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of twenty-four years, William Johnson of Pitkin, LA; her six children, Tayelor Jackson of Rosepine, LA, Chelsea Ward (Alex) of Elizabeth, LA, Brynlee Minion (Caleb) of Evans, LA, David Rieker (Taylor) of Rosepine, LA, Olyvia Tarver (Morgan) of LaCamp, LA; Wesley Johnson(Mishell) of Cravens, LA; eleven grandchildren, Aiden, Cason, Waylon, Kyleigh, Karter, Avie, Kason, Cooper, Haisleigh, Ellie, and Weston; one brother, David Fontenot (Lori); two sisters, Susan Vaught(Neal) of Henderson, TX, Molly Rodriguez (Andrew) of Houston, TX; her mother, Helen Fontenot of Houston, TX; special friends, Sheila Salpeitra of Cravens, LA, Lynn Weite of DeRidder, LA ( thank you for the extended care for the family), her Leon (Brittany Hood (Josh) of Ragley, LA) as well as a loving circle of family and friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Lynn Fontenot; mother-in-law, Melinda Jackson; stepmother, Jeannine Positano.

Funeral services will be held on July 15, 2025, at Creel Memorial Gardens Chapel, with a public viewing from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the service at 12:00 PM. Mary will be laid to rest at Creel Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1132 Camp Pearl Rd, Reeves, LA 70658. Reverend John Elliott will officiate the service.
