Mary Jean Ashworth, 74, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at her home.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Alfred Ashworth, Jr of DeRidder, LA, Michael Charles Ashworth of DeRidder, LA, Obie James Ashworth & wife Mia of DeRidder, LA, Whitney Paul Ashworth & wife Inette of DeRidder, LA; daughters, Glenda Rahming of DeRidder, LA, Marilyn Thomas & husband Milton of DeRidder, LA, Johnnie Mae Murray & husband Glenn of DeRidder, LA; brothers, Edward Charles Houston & wife Fannie Mae of DeRidder, LA, Charles Mitchell of Frierson , LA, Robert Mitchell of Frierson, LA; sisters, Virginia Ann Johnson of DeRidder, LA, Ann Opal Williams & husband Donnie of Shreveport, LA, Alecia Roberts of Houston, TX, Doreen Ford of Houston, TX; special cousin ~ more like a sister, Nora Pinchback; 31 Grandchildren; 33 Great Grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ms. Ashworth was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Alfred Ashworth, Sr.; daughters, Angela Ashworth and Linda Watson; brothers, Edward James Mitchell, OB Mitchell, and Whitney Edwards; sisters, Gwendolyn Joyce Ford, Gloria Jean Lincoln, and Exie Thomas.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 9:00AM until time of service at St. Mary Church of God in Christ in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11:00AM at St. Mary Church of God in Christ in DeRidder, LA.  Burial will follow at Spikes Cemetery in Bancroft, LA.  Rev. Dallas Thomas will officiate.
