Marilyn Marie Miller

Marilyn M. Miller was born on July 26, 1955 in DeRidder, Louisiana to Elijah Johnson and the late Malenda Miller of DeRidder.  Marilyn passed from this life on Saturday, February  4, 2012 in DeRidder, Louisiana.  At an early age, she was sprinkled at New Hope CME Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Wilson.  She later united with Saint Mary Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Elder James Piper, Sr. where she served faithfully.  Marilyn worked for Beauregard Parish School Board at Carver Elementary School Cafeteria for a number of years.  She was formally employed by BARC. Visitation will be on Monday, February 13, 2012 from 10:00am until 1:00pm at St. Mary Church of God in Christ in DeRidder, Louisiana.   Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 1:00pm at St. Mary Church of God in Christ.  Superintendent Dallas Thomas will officiate.  Burial will follow at Almadane Cemetery in Almadane, Louisiana.  


Those left to cherish her memories and life are daughters, Bridgette(Cassius)Perkins and Kanetta Miller  of Houston, TX; brothers, Van Johnson of Irving, TX; Larry J.(Sandra) Miller of Dallas, TX; Jackie O. Miller of DeRidder, LA; father, Elijah Johnson of DeRidder, LA; half-sister, Melissa Sheff and half-brothers, Elijah Johnson, Jr., Patrick Johnson, and Chris Johnson.  She is also survived by four grandchildren, Jullian Bolden, Jared Miller, Cassius Perkins II and Jermysha Hadnott of Houston, TX; two great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends, and a devoted sister in law, Frankie Johnson of DeRidder, LA. Marilyn was preceded in death by her mother, Malenda Miller; brother, Thelton Johnson; uncles, John Miller and Otis Miller; aunts, Thelma Ford and Ruth Johnson.
