Margaret Ann Giles Johnson

October 13, 1948 — April 19, 2025

Leesville, Louisiana

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Margaret Ann Giles Johnson, who left us on April 19, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on October 13, 1948, in Merryville, LA, she spent her life in the Cravens area, sharing countless memories with those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Margaret was a devoted homemaker whose greatest joys came from caring for her family. She was a proud mother to her children and treasured the time spent with her grandchildren. The love she held for her family was unwavering.

A regular attendee at Freedom Baptist Church in Pitkin, LA, Margaret found solace in her faith and community. She also had a passion for adventure, whether it was traveling to new places, casting a line while fishing, or simply enjoying the beauty of hummingbirds at her feeder.

Those left to cherish her memories are her sons, Edwin Giles of Baton Rouge, LA, Steven Johnson and Candi of Iowa, LA; daughter, Melody Johnson and partner, Christie Harrington of Leesville, LA; grandchildren, Kayla Ruiz, Hunter Johnson, Shelton Johnson, Jewel Johnson, Jesslyn Johnson; great grandchildren, Jaysean, Alicia, Tiana and one on the way; best friends, Yvonne Pollard, Waylon Pollard, Elizabeth Pollard McDonald and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Johnson; son, Allen Yawn; parents, Albert and Jeanette Giles and ten siblings.

Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating Margaret's life. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 2:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA, where we will come together to honor all the wonderful memories she created. Pastor Edward Evans will officiate the service.

Margaret will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved her. May her spirit soar, just like the hummingbirds she adored.

The family would like to thank Heart of Hospice, Alexandria, especially hospice nurse, Gauge Springer for the exceptional care and compassion shown during this difficult time.
