Maggie Maudine Martin Kirk, passed away on December 20, 2025, at the age of 87. She was born on August 3,1938, in Bentonia, Mississippi to Rev. Robert and Jessie Thomas Martin. Maggie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Maggie had a passion for gardening, reading, and sewing. Her creative talents brought beauty and warmth to her home and lives of those around her. She touched many hearts with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. She was an active member of Texas Avenue Baptist Church where she presented Mission Moments on Sunday mornings.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Vernon Kirk Sr., and their devoted children; Vernon Kirk, Jr. and wife Connie, Donna Williams and husband Mike, all from DeRidder. Grandchildren: Eric Kirk (Tricia), Ryan Kirk (Jennifer), Corey Kirk (Allie), Paul Williams (Katie), Justin Williams (Nichole), David Williams (Josey) and Jared Williams (Baylee). Great Grandchildren: Simon, Aubrey, Anna Kate, Elyse, and Emery Kirk. Emily, Anna, Sadie, Logan, Brylee and Maggie Anne Williams. Sisters: Kathleen Ketchum and husband Pete of Ridgeland, MS. Sandra Russell and husband Edwin of Springville, AL. and many nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by her parents Rev. Robert and Jessie Martin, and Sister Bobbie Broocks and husband James.
Funeral services to celebrate her life will take place on December 27, 2025, at Texas Avenue Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA at 12 PM. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 11 AM until the start of the service at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Hopewell Cemetery. Brother Darryl Hoychick will be officiating the service.
We invite all who knew and loved Maggie to come together in remembrance, to share stories, and pay tribute to her remarkable life. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
