It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynda Gayle Laurent, who left us on January 6, 2026, just days shy of her birthday. Lynda was a resident of Alexandria, LA, and was known for her warmth, laughter, and boundless love for her family and friends.
Lynda was not just a wonderful wife to her beloved husband, Larry Laurent, but also a pillar of strength and joy in her community. For 30 incredible years, Lynda and Larry were inseparable, creating a beautiful life filled with laughter, love, and countless family gatherings that brought everyone together. A devoted member of New Sunrise Baptist Church, Lynda dedicated much of her life to serving alongside Larry, who is also the pastor. Her heart for her faith and community shone through in all she did, and her vivacious spirit made her a joy to be around.
In addition to her love for family and church, Lynda had a passion for cooking and traveling. Whether it was whipping up delicious meals or exploring new places, she embraced life to the fullest and shared her zest for living with everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Lynda is survived by her loving husband, Larry Laurent of Alexandria, LA; children, Sharrie Boullion (PNut) of Ragley, LA, John Douglas Belton, II (Karmen) of Dallas, TX, and George Thomas Belton of Florida; her brothers, Gene Cudd of Leesville, LA, Ronald Cudd of Alvin, TX, and Bobby Cudd (Evelyn) of DeRidder, LA; Grandchildren, Megan Tuck, Mandy Breaux, Kaleb Belton, Kyah Boullion, Elliana Boullion, Amley Tuck, Wyatt Tuck and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Lola Smith; brother, Charles Cudd.
To honor her memory, we invite friends and family to gather for a public viewing on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at New Sunrise Baptist Church in Otis, LA. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM, also at New Sunrise Baptist Church. Brother Larry Laurent and Brother Berry Dousey will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Bill Crawford, Dennis Martin, Zack Dousey, David Cudd, Craig Cudd and PNut Boullion. After the service, Lynda will be laid to rest at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, LA.
Though we will miss her dearly, Lynda's spirit will live on in our hearts and cherished memories.
