Luther Dwayne Blackmon, 71, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Saturday, August 31, 2013 in Pineville, LA.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Susan Lawayne Blackmon Douthit of Powderly, TX; step daughters, Brenda Pierce  and Linda Elliot both of Rosepine, LA; sisters, Maureen Blackmon Arnoldi of Shreveport, LA and Nita Blackmon Buchanan of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, J.T. Douthit of Camp Pendleton, CA, Casey Douthit of Houston, TX and Trinity Perkins of Honey Grove, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Ethel Blackmon and

brother, B.C. "Sonny" Blackmon.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 3:00pm at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Lewis Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.  Rev. George smith and Rev. George L. Glass will officiate.
