It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lou Ella June Smith Woodard, who slipped peacefully into eternal rest on May 14, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on June 10, 1931, in Cimarron, Kansas, Lou Ella was a devoted homemaker who poured her love into every meal she cooked and every stitch she sewed for her family.

Lou Ella was a woman of faith, a true prayer warrior who found comfort and strength in her love for Jesus. She looked forward to the day she would join Him in Heaven, where she would be greeted with open arms. Her family meant the world to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them, especially enjoying quiet time on the front porch watching the birds and giving her dog, Buddy a treat.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication. She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Young and Ricky, Vikki Hickman and Jimmy; granddaughters, Katrina Williams and Mike, Ladena Young; grandson, Blake Spence; great-grandson, Mitchell Louis Young; bonus grandson, Tony Reeves; her sister, Delores Cooley; caregivers, Shelia Mahaffey and Phala Iles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Lou Ella's hard work and unwavering spirit will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lou Ella was preceded in death by her loving husband, Earles Mitchell Woodard, parents, Henry Smith and Anna Koehn Smith; six sisters and five brothers.
