It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lisa Michelle Brister Smith, who left us on June 4, 2026, at the age of 59. Born on October 22, 1966, in DeRidder, LA, Lisa was a free spirit who spread her warmth and creativity wherever she went.

An avid lover of the outdoors, Lisa found joy in hunting, fishing, and digging for arrowheads. Her unique talents also extended to woodworking, where she could build just about anything - a testament to her creativity and determination. Lisa had a special affinity for butterflies, which mirrored her vibrant spirit and love for life.

Lisa was a beloved homemaker and a devoted family member. She will be profoundly missed by her husband, Terry Smith of DeRidder, LA; her son, William Smith of Merryville, LA; her daughters, Nikki Joshlin and Lance of DeRidder, LA, Erika Wyatt and Ricky of DeRidder, LA; her mother, Helen Bryant of DeRidder, LA; sisters, Tracie Calcote and Brad of DeRidder, LA, Theresa Brister and Matt of Norwood, MO; brother, David Brister and Anne of DeRidder, LA; father-in-law, Rooter Smith and Melonee of Knight Community, LA; grandchildren, Camden, Nataleigh, Callie, Whitleigh, Nova, Cooper and Leighton and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She cherished her family and created countless precious memories that will forever be held close to their hearts.

Lisa was preceded in death by her son, Michael Barr; father, David Brister; stepfather, Clifton Bryant; mother-in-law, Barbara Smith.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home, with a public viewing taking place earlier that day at 10:00 AM. Pallbearers will be Jerry Higginbotham, Clay Fletcher, Ricky Wyatt, John Brown, Keith Higginbotham, Ryan Calcote. Honorary pallbearer will be William Smith. Lisa will be laid to rest following the service at Lewis Cemetery in DeRidder, LA.

As we celebrate Lisa's life, let us remember her adventurous spirit, her love for nature, and the beautiful family she nurtured. She will remain in our hearts forever.
