Linda Kae Funk Green, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on September 27, 2024, in Merryville, LA, at the age of 77. She was born in Higgins, TX, on December 13, 1946. Linda devoted her life to her family as a homemaker and was known for her talent in sewing, quilting, painting, and drawing.
Linda was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Rosepine, LA, where she found solace and community.
Linda spent many years advocating in the Hispanic community by teaching adults and children how to speak, read and write English. She was a bilingual bus driver in Deer Park, TX and would go from house to house helping bilingual children with their homework and teaching their parents how to help the children with their homework.
She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of fifty-six years, Clayton Green of Merryville, LA; son, Shannon Green and Holly of Huntsville, TX; daughters, Roxanne Rosenlund of Rexburg, ID and Estelle Green of Merryville, LA; brothers, Joe Funk and Kendall of Longview, TX, Haynes Funk and Ruth of Sulphur Rock, AR, Roy Funk and Janice of Vinton, LA; sister, Corine Nichols and Gaylon of Vinton, LA; grandchildren, Cecilia, Christina, Charlene; great grandchild, Tautua and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Lucille Funk.
A memorial service and ceremonies to honor Linda's life will be held in the future, providing friends and family with the opportunity to celebrate her rich legacy and the love she shared with those around her. Linda will be remembered fondly for her dedication to her family, her creative spirit, and her warm, generous heart.
