Lena LeDoux Harper Lacy

Lena LeDoux Harper Lacy passed from this life to begin eternal life with the Lord on April 23, 2024. She was 99 years old. Lena was born in Eunice, La. on November 7, 1924. She was raised in Lake Charles and spent most of her life in Dry Creek and DeRidder, La.


Lena was a homemaker and an outstanding seamstress, having made dozens of intricate and ornate hand-sewn quilts. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in DeRidder and previously Shiloh Baptist Church in Dry Creek.


Lena was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Abner Clinton “Pete” Harper, and her 2nd husband Lonzo Lacy. She is survived by her son, A.C. Harper and his wife Betty, DeRidder, La., daughter Mollie Harper Cambre and her husband Gary, DeRidder, La.; four grandchildren, Doug Harper (Paige), Abita Springs, La., Michael Harper and fiance’ (Vickie Perkins) DeRidder, La., Josh Cambre (Yuko), Kapolei, HI and Kyle Cambre (Amy), Casselberry, Fla.


She is also survived by eight great grandchildren: Tyler, Abigail, Jake and Luke Harper; Madeline Harper (fiance’ John Dooley), Hannah and Hagan Harper and Aili Cambre. She also had three great, great grandchildren: Wren, Ellie and Collin.


Visitation will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church in Dry Creek from 9 to 11 a.m. on Monday, April 29th, and her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. The service will be conducted by Bro. Bruce Butts. Graveside ceremony and interment will be at Shiloh Baptist Cemetery.
