Leita Ann Townsley

Leita Ann Stone Townsley, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the chapel of Myers Colonial Funeral Home of DeRidder, LA on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 2:00 PM. Reverend Lonnie Gothrup will officiate, and burial will follow the service at Cannon Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the time of service.

Ann was a resident of Merryville. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Roland, for forty-two years until his passing in 2007. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a school bus driver for Beauregard Parish School system of twenty years. She enjoyed traveling out West, cross stitching, reading, watching western shows and the Green Bay Packers on TV. Ann could be found at her weekly visit to Shear Elegance Hair Salon and eating lunch at Steamboat Bills. She was dearly loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish Ann’s memory include her son, Frank Arthur Townsley and wife, Chaery; daughter, Rolinda Kay Townsley Fruge and husband, Drew; son, Louis Douglas “Doug” Townsley and wife, Jenise; six grandchildren, Kyle Townsley and wife, Brittany, Lindsey Townsley, Joshua Fruge and wife, Danielle, Rebekah Spencer and husband, Adam, Mickey Townsley and wife, Brandi, Michael and wife, Ashley; six great grandchildren, Daxton, Jonah, Lyla, Rory, Reagan and Raeleigh; one sister, Pat Townsley and husband, James and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Roland Townsley; her parents, Arthur and Dollie Stone and her great grandson, Jude Fruge.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Josh Fruge, Kyle Townsley, Mickey Townsley, Michael Townsley, Scott Townsley and Brian Alston.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at St. Patrick hospital and Harbor Hospice.
