Laron Monroe Baggett

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laron Monroe Baggett, also lovingly known as "Pawpaw Bagg," who left us on November 14, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on August 9, 1953, in DeRidder, Louisiana, Laron made his home in Sugartown, where he lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.

Laron was a dedicated dad and pawpaw who cherished his role in his family's life. He is survived by his beloved granddaughter, Brylee Cooley of Sugartown, LA, and grandson, Bryten Cooley of Merryville, LA, who will always remember the joy and wisdom he brought to their lives.

Laron was preceded in death by his parents, James and Inez Baggett; daughter, LeAnn Baggett; son, Jason Baggett and sister, Glenda Baggett.

Known for his warm spirit and generosity, Laron enjoyed welcoming his group of friends into his home, often accompanied by his loyal dog, Brownie. He had a passion for collecting all sorts of things and loved to travel, with Cancun holding a special place in his heart. An avid LSU and Saints fan, he was never one to miss a game. He spent many days hunting and fishing, and his excitement for drag racing was contagious.

To celebrate Laron's life, a funeral service will be held at Myers Colonial Funeral Home on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 12:00 pm, where family and friends can pay their respects. A public viewing will also be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, at 10:00 am, followed by burial later that day at Hamilton Cemetery in Grant, LA. Pallbearers will be Parker Wascom, Gunner Seal, Travis Townson, Brian Phelps, Richard Palmer. Honorary pallbearer will be Gary Townson.

In honoring Laron's love for life, we invite all who knew him to gather, share memories, and celebrate the wonderful man we were lucky to call family and friend. Your presence will bring comfort and joy, as we remember the laughter and love he shared with all around him.
