It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kelle Diane Pruitt Cole, who entered eternal rest on February 24, 2026, at the age of 58.
Kelle was born on September 4, 1967, in DeRidder, Louisiana, to Merlin and Margie Pruitt. She lived her life fully, grounded in love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to her family and friends. Known for her strong spirit, kind heart, and unmistakable laugh, Kelle brought warmth wherever she went.
A talented and dedicated hairdresser, Kelle was known not only for her skill, but also for the lively conversations and laughter she shared with her clients. She had a way of making people feel comfortable, welcomed, and heard. Beyond her profession, Kelle had a deep love for cooking. Her kitchen was the heart of her home where she gathered her family around the table, creating unforgettable memories. Her immense love and pride for her family was evident to everyone she encountered.
Above all else, Kelle treasured her role as “Maw Maw.” Her grandchildren were the light of her life and her greatest joy. She celebrated every milestone, cheered them on enthusiastically, and never missed an opportunity to spoil them with hugs, laughter, and special treats. She was the kind of grandmother that made each grandchild feel deeply loved and uniquely special. The memories they shared with her will forever remain a precious gift in their hearts.
Kelle leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion and is survived by her husband, Chris Jones; her children, Chelsea Worthey and husband Jeremy, Hunter Bednarek, and stepdaughter Brittany Banta and husband Kevin; and her seven beloved grandchildren: Everette Worthey, Hudson Worthey, Jackson Worthey, Demi Banta, Charlotte Banta, Brielle Banta, and Baylon Banta. She is also survived by her sister, Tammie Gibson and husband Danny, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Kelle was preceded in death by her parents, Merlin and Margie Pruitt, and her siblings, Richard Pruitt, Jackie Pruitt, and Tommy Pruitt.
A public viewing will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home followed by a funeral service officiated by Brother Allen Bynog. Cremation will follow the services.
As we gather to celebrate Kelle’s life, may we hold close her contagious laughter, her fierce devotion to her family, and the boundless love she poured into those around her. Though she will be profoundly missed, her spirit will continue to shine through the hearts of her children, grandchildren, and all who were lucky enough to know her.
