Julynda Jackson

Julynda was born on Monday, September 7, 1964 to Ida Ruth Harper and Robert Hines in DeRidder, Louisiana. She answered God’s call to Heaven on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.


“Julie” as she was fondly called and gave her life to Christ at an early age at the Star of Bethlehem B.C. under the leadership of her grandfather, the late Pastor Woodrow W. Batties, remaining through all its leaders, Pastor Elliott W. Ford and the present leadership, Pastor Keith W. Stevenson.


She was a graduate of DeRidder High School, Class of 1982. She recently celebrated a forty-year reunion with her class, which she loved and was very fond of. Following high school, Julie attended college and worked in Houston, TX. She worked in Lake Charles as a Dental Assistant; she was also a CNA. Julie was married to Charles Ray Jackson in 1991 and they had a daughter. The family moved to Missouri and later returned to DeRidder, reuniting with her SBBC family, until her eternal rest.


Those who will continue to cherish her memory are her child, Kai Nicole-Renee’ Jackson, Shreveport, LA; brother, John(Elaine) Harper, Jasper, TX; aunt, Ina Batties(Charlie) Johnson, cousin, Joyce Ann Bluitt, Jacqueline Archield; godchildren, Essie Hickmon, Fort Worth, TX, Brigette warren, Richmond, CA; sister-in-law, Patsy Davis; nephew, Johnathan Hill Davis; uncle, Lonnie(Brenda) Bickham; cousins, Gloria Robinson, Ouida Batties, Gerald Bickham, Marvin Bickham, Beverly Bickham-Williams, Woodrow Johnson, Raymond Johnson, Winter Harrell, Antony Archield and Tansia Thompson; best friends, Shalonda Johnson-Jackson, Kevin Stevenson, Darrell Bush, LaShawn Allen and Odessa Ford.


Julie was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, Pastor and Mrs. Woodrow W. Batties; aunts, Barbara Bickham, Iris Hickmon and uncle, George Hickmon.


Homegoing Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 7, 2022 at Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church in DeRidder, LA. Reverend Keith Stevenson will officiate the service.
