Johnny Lem Warner, Sr.

September 10, 1940 — December 29, 2025

DeRidder, Louisiana

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Johnny Lem Warner Sr., who left us on December 29, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on September 10, 1940, in Jasper, TX, Johnny was a lifetime lover of family and the great outdoors, who called DeRidder, LA, home.

Johnny was married to his beloved wife, Vivian Warner, for many wonderful years. Together, they raised two incredible sons, Johnny Jr. and Scott, who were always the apples of his eye. He was also a proud grandpa and loved every moment he spent with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Johnny was known for his infectious laughter and knack for making everyone around him feel loved.

Johnny served in the Army for two years, a time he looked back on with pride. Following his military service, he dedicated 45 years to working in maintenance at Boise, where he was a reliable and hardworking presence. Alongside his career, Johnny found joy in coaching baseball for his boys, sharing his love for hunting and fishing, and taking care of the "old place," the cherished family home back in Texas.

Johnny was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Masonic order; he enjoyed good company and camaraderie with his brothers. Johnny had a soft spot for his loyal puppy, Turk, who was his constant companion.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Vivian Warner of DeRidder, LA; sons, Johnny Lem Warner, Jr. of DeRidder, LA, Scott Coulter Warner and Renee of Broussard, LA; grandchildren, Luka Elizabeth Warner and Payton Blase Fowler; his fur baby, Turk and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Hollie and Minnie Warner; brothers, Bevis Warner, Bernis Warner; sisters, Ovis Stephenson, Willie Clyde Billingsley, Janie Elizabeth Bowen.

Johnny will be laid to rest in a graveside service at Wood Cemetery in Pineland, TX, on Sunday, January 4, 2026. The service will begin at 11:30 AM, followed by the burial. Brent Hopson will speak and pallbearers will be family and friends. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate the life of a remarkable man who touched many hearts.
