Jerry Michael Runge

Jerry Michael Runge, 84, of DeRidder, LA, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 28, 2024.

Jerry was born June 20, 1939 in Fruitvale, TX to George and Myrtle Runge. Jerry worked as an operator at Boise Cascade for twenty-eight years before retiring. He loved hunting, fishing and working in his garden.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Mike Runge and Elizabeth of DeRidder, LA, Eric Runge and Mindy of Stonewall, LA; daughters, Sherry Myers of Baton Rouge, LA, Sandra Clark of DeRidder, LA; sister, Delores Runge of DeRidder, LA; thirteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; special grandchildren, Laranda Peterson and husband, Daniel, Devin Janice, Haydn Runge; special niece, Misty Runge-Janice and husband, Anthony and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Elizabeth Runge; daughter, Patricia Boyle; granddaughter, Heather Runge; parents, George and Myrtle Runge; brothers, Howard Runge, Bobbie Runge, Gerald Runge, Kenneth Runge, Stanley Runge; sisters, Oneta Keel, Hazel Branam, Hettie Beaton, Sue Martinez, Tommie James.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, LA . Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 2, 2024 also at Myers Colonial Funeral Home. Pastor George Lee Glass  will officiate the service. Pallbearers will be Chris Runge, Cody Sigler, Dusty Clark, Joby Boyle, Haydn Runge, Devin Janice. Honorary pallbearers will be Maison Andrews, Paxton Runge, Braxton Andrews. Burial will follow at Rosepine Cemetery in Rosepine, LA.
